Zendesk Sell (formerly Base CRM) is sales force automation software to enhance productivity, processes, and pipeline visibility for sales teams. Use Domo's Zendesk Sell Firehose connector to retrieve your events related to appointments, calls, contacts, deals, leads, tags, tasks, users, etc. To learn more about the Zendesk Sell Firehose API, visit their page (https://developers.getbase.com/docs/...ehose/overview).
You connect to your Zendesk Sell Firehose account in the Data Center. This topic discusses the fields and menus that are specific to the Zendesk Sell Firehose connector user interface. General information for adding DataSets, setting update schedules, and editing DataSet information is discussed in Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector.
To connect to your Zendesk Firehose account and create a DataSet, you must have the email address and password associated with your Zendesk Sell account. Alternatively, you can directly sign in with your Zendesk account, if you have registered after January 2020.
Connecting to Your Zendesk Account
This section enumerates the options in the Credentials and Details panes in the Zendesk Sell Firehose Connector page. The components of the other panes in this page, Scheduling and Name & Describe Your DataSet, are universal across most connector types and are discussed in greater length in Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector.
The Domo Zendesk Sell Firehose connector uses OAuth to connect, so there is no need to enter credentials within Domo. Click Connect (or select Add Account if you have existing Zendesk accounts in Domo) to open the Zendesk OAuth screen where you can enter your Zendesk credentials. Once you have entered valid Zendesk credentials, you can use the same account any time you go to create a new Zendesk Sell Firehose DataSet. You can manage connector accounts in the Accounts tab in the Data Center. For more information about this tab, see Managing User Accounts for Connectors.
This pane contains a primary Reports menu, along with various other menus which may or may not appear depending on the report type you select.
Select the Zendesk Sell Firehose report you want to run. The following reports are available:
|Retrieve Historical Data On The First Run?||Indicate if you want to retrieve historical data on the first run of the dataset.|
For information about the remaining sections of the Connector interface, including how to configure scheduling, retry, and update options, see Adding a DataSet Using a Data Connector.
What API version does this connector use?
The Zendesk Sell Firehose connector uses version 3 of the Zendesk API (https://api.getbase.com/v3/).
Which endpoint does each report call in this connector?
|Report Name||Endpoint URL|
What kind of credentials do I need to power up the Zendesk connector?
You need the email address and password associated with your Zendesk Sell account. Alternatively, you can directly sign in with your Zendesk account, if you have registered after January 2020.
How do I know my Zendesk credentials are secure?
The login process uses the OAuth process, so your Zendesk credentials are never seen or stored by Domo. This keeps your login secure. You can revoke Domo's access to your account at any time.
How frequently will my data update?
As often as needed.
Are there any API limits that I need to be aware of?
Zendesk Sell allows up to 36,000 requests per hour (10 requests/ip/second).
Can I use the same account to create multiple datasets?
- Make sure your authentication remains valid.
- Review the configuration to make sure that all required items have been selected.
- Review the Connector history for error messages.
- In rare cases, you may be requesting too much information and reaching API limitations or timeouts. If this is the case, you can review the history of the Connector run to see the error message and duration. If this is the case, you can reduce the number of accounts that are being pulled, choose a smaller number of metrics for the report that you are pulling, or reduce the timeframe that you are trying to pull.
